Ways to Fix Unable to Outlook Open Attachments on Windows

Unrecognized File Format

Please send me the file as an attachment in a format that my computer system can access. Install software that can open such a file format. This second option is advisable if you will be dealing with this particular file format a lot.

Bad File Association or Problem with Program

Save the attachment to your local drive and open it from there.

Open your file with the chosen program

If you cannot find the program of your choice on your computer, please try to open it with the “Browse” option and locate the .exe file of the program on your PC. If you choose “OK” to make the program your default attachment opening program, then you can’t go wrong.

If you want to use this particular program to open all your attachments going forward, tick the box beside the option “Always use this app to open” and select “OK”.

Antivirus Programs Preventing

To disable an antivirus program on your computer, go to the “Windows notification area” and locate the antivirus you wish to disable. The programs usually appear as icons. ..

The COM Add-ins tab under the “Manage” tab allows you to manage your add-ins. This includes managing your add-ins for both your personal and work accounts. You can find a list of all of your COM Add-ins in the left pane, and manage them by clicking on one of the buttons in the right pane.

To access the “GO” button, just beside “Manage”. Once you select it, you will be able to access your account’s settings and logs. ..

Final Words

I have been having this issue for a while now and it has been getting worse and worse. I have tried different Outlook versions, different browsers, and even different computers. I even tried resetting my computer but that didn’t help. I think it is because Outlook is not able to open attachments properly. Can anyone help me out?
