Microsoft has released a new update to its Office 365 Monthly Channel that allows users to choose where Office documents open by default. This update also includes a new feature that allows users to change the default opening location for Excel, Word and PowerPoint documents stored on OneDrive, SharePoint or Outlook. There is no need to take any action if users want the files to be opened in the web application. However, if users want the files to be opened in their desktop app, they can do so by following these steps:
