Google has announced that it is discontinuing support for some of its older Pixel models in the near future. Older devices will not be supported with the latest Android releases, and there are no plans to update them until October 2022 and August 2023, respectively.
Since the first developer preview of Android 13 was released in February, it was anticipated that it would be released earlier than other recent Android releases, and in the end, things worked out that way. Steps to Pause Apps in Android 13
Long press on the app shortcut window and select “Open in new window.”
Click the hourglass icon on the left side of the shortcut window and select “Hours.”
When you click the hourglass icon, a dialog box appears asking you to confirm that you want to pause the app. Click the Pause button to pause the application. ..
If you click the Pause button, the application is paused. The application icon is grayed out to provide a visual cue that the application is in paused status.

To pause an app in Android 13, open the Settings app and select the App preferences. Scroll down to the bottom and select “Pause apps”. This will stop all of the apps from running in the background and you will be able to use them again.
