- Start the game and select the Herbalist from the main menu.
- Choose your difficulty level and start playing.
- As you progress, you will find rat-infested areas that are difficult to navigate.
- If you find yourself in a rat-infested area, choose to “Save the Herbalist.” This will cause your game to end and you will not be able to continue playing until you save again or change your difficulty setting.
Steps to Save the Herbalist in A Plague Tale: Requiem
The herbalist and two torch-wielding soldiers can be seen entering the area through a locked door in the distance after passing past/around the little church in Chapter 3. The guards will murder the herbalist very quickly after they come. This is what’s intended to occur! The Herbalist is not intended for you to save.
If you choose to put out the fire on the tiny hill to the right (where the cart with the dead bodies is), most of the rats in the region will be attracted to it. Then move toward the door to alert the guards and herbalist. Keep an eye out for guard who may veer slightly to his left, which would be herbalist’s right. ..
Quickly sling an extinguisher on your torch and the other guard. If you’re quick (and lucky) enough, the rats in the area will be preoccupied with the cart and the two guards, then letting the Herbalist stand there alive.
Final Words
In order to save the Herbalist, players can find and talk to him in Chapter 3: A Burden of Blood. He will offer players a potion that will heal him for 50% of his maximum health. If players choose not to take the potion, he will still die.
