Blizzard Entertainment has announced that players will not only be able to purchase heroes, but also complete a series of quests called Catch Up Hero challenges to win them. If you’re a new Overwatch 2 player who’s lost Kiriko and doesn’t want to spend any money on her, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.

How to Unlock heroes in Overwatch 2

Overwatch is a complex game that can be overwhelming for players who are just getting to know it. With 35 heroes, 8 standard game modes and 36 maps, new players may have trouble getting their bearings at first. While Overwatch is fairly easy to learn, it’s always helpful to have some support in the beginning, which is why Blizzard introduced the First User Experience (FTUE).

Players will initially have access to a limited number of game modes, heroes, and a few other restrictions to gradually introduce them to the game. They start with a total of 13 heroes and you can unlock the rest by simply playing the game.

Final Words

To unlock all of the heroes in Overwatch 2, you must play a good number of matches. The most common way to get these heroes is by completing challenges that they are linked to. Some heroes, like Baptiste, will take some time to finish, while others are just a handful. Each win counts as two after playing four games.
