Ice Universe, a leaker of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, has claimed that the device will feature a 200MP camera. This would make it one of the most powerful camera phones on the market, and would give users an advantage over other devices. ..

Ice Universe has stated that it is “impossible to use a main sensor larger than this.” The camera has a 0.6μm pixel size and a larger f/1.7 aperture to let in more light. ..

The Samsung Galaxy S22’s camera features a 1/1.33-inch sensor with 0.8µm pixels and f/1.8 aperture. This is an increase over the S23 Ultra’s sensor, which is only slightly larger than the one that powers the 48-megapixel camera launched for the iPhone 14 Pro.

This may be good news for users. A larger sensor means a larger camera lens on the back of the phone, which can be a distraction. To keep the size of the sensor small, the company uses a proprietary pixel binning technology that combines pixels into one larger image, but smaller while preserving detail.

Samsung is not planning to increase the size of its camera sensor for its next flagship phone.
