The JBL Tune 125TWS are basic wireless earbuds that lack any fancy design features. The earphones are compact and ergonomic, but the charging case is not very appealing. The blue and white variants look a bit more interesting, but the overall design is uninspired. ..

The JBL Tune 125TWS charging case is a handy way to charge your wireless earbuds. It’s mostly plastic and has a smooth, matte finish that doesn’t feel plasticky or cheap.

The USB Type-C port is on the bottom of the case and because of that, the case does not stand up on its own. The flip-top lid has strong magnets, which makes it easy to take off and put back on. There are also status indicator LEDs (three white LEDs) on the surface of the case. Overall, this case is quite sturdy and it holds earphones securely in place.

The earphones look sporty, so we assumed that the Tune 125TWS would have an IP rating, similar to the Sony WF-XB700 earphones, which have an IPX4 rating. However, we were surprised and disappointed to learn that the earphones do not have an IP rating, making it unsafe to use these earphones at the gym or even in light rain. ..

The earbuds have physical controls that can be used to control music playback and calls. Pressing the right ear cup once pauses music playback or answers an incoming call. Double-tapping the right earpiece brings up your device’s voice assistant. Pressing the left earbud once skips forward one track, and double-tapping skips to the previous track. There are no controls for adjusting the volume, which is a shame since there is no real mapping for a long press on either side, and this could have easily been done to adjust the volume.
