Livingston enjoyed playing The Last Leviathan so much that he decided to release a more polished and refined version of the game in early access. He claimed that the rougher aspects of the game were worth it because it allowed him to build more boats and perform sinkings more often. Livingston wrote, “The Last Leviathan is a great game that I enjoy playing even more now that I have improved upon it.”
Developer Super Punk Games has released the last Leviathan update, but it was three years old when it was released in November 2019.
It’s disappointing to see early access games fall short of their goals, falling prey to cynics who see early access as a scam and ignore what they’ve achieved over the years. The Last Leviathan released on both Steam(opens in new tab) and GOG, but may be removed from there as well.
